11th Sept 08 – Quiberon
We set off mid morning, amidst lots of rain. Our first stop was a Hymer dealer to try to get the door fixed – we arrived there at 12noon, to be told they had just finished for lunch (lunch break was 2 hours). We parked up & made our lunch, then amused ourselves on the internet. We finally got the door fixed, it took about 10mins max! We decided to continue on our journey to Quiberon which was about 90miles. Mal drove with his expert precision, what a comfortable trip. We arrived at our destination at around 5pm. We picked a spot overlooking the sea, which had huge rolling waves – Mal was in his element. We took a stroll along the peninsula then headed back to cook tea. A long day!!
12th Sept 08 – Quiberon
We awoke at 5am to the most torrential rain I think I’ve ever heard! It had woken us during the night too, but by the time we got up it had subsided to a bright sunny day! We had decided upon another day in Quiberon as we only arrived late yesterday. As I write this we are drinking the most wonderful cidre (cider to us folk in the UK), which Normandy is famous for. After breakfast we saddled up the bikes & took a ride to the nearest town, we spent a good portion of the afternoon relaxing in our chairs outside reading – it is a beautiful day! Mal spent some time trying to fix one of the doors on the garage as it was not shutting correctly & he found that the latch had worked loose – thanks again Hymer for such a quality product! We had a British guy across from us who came to ask if Mal needed any tools or WD40, little did he know Mal has half of Malpin aka Maplin it was re-named in honour of Mal’s patronage over the last few months - tee hee. Once he saw M n M’s stash of tools he went quiet, but offered any help should it be required – what a nice guy! Later in the afternoon we took a walk along the headland which was stunning the crashendo of waves one after another were breathtaking. Our neighbours tonight are from the UK & stopped by for a chat – seem like nice people.
