2nd Sept 08 – Tues Up early to get ready for the off. We were meeting up with Greg & JB Mal’s friends for a coffee at 11.30am. So we stowed all bits & bobs, double checked the passports etc. Then it was time to say goodbye, P & I were very sad (but we will see her again very soon). We exchanged cards & I said bye to Chris & the dogs. Then one last farewell to my Mum & we were off on our way to meet our friends. I opened one of the 2 cards P had given me which had me in floods of tears, so I am waiting to open the other one later, otherwise Greg & JB will think I am an emotional wreck! Greg texted to say he’s running late, but we decided to wait anyway. It was great to see Greg & meet JB & his wife Megan. We then headed for Birmingham to stay at Jay’s (one of Mal’s ex work colleagues). Mal made a great chilli for tea, Jay joined us in the MH but we later watched a film in his house so as not to leave (chops the dog) on her own for too long. 3rd Sept 08 – Weds Up to a sunny day – albeit a little tired after perhaps one glass of wine too many. Felt a little sad P is not here with her smiling face to say good morning! However, Jay did pop in to say good morning whilst taking chops for a stroll. Jay was the perfect host & let me use his washer. We went out at lunchtime to call on some of Mal’s work colleagues in Coventry & Mona one of my friends in Rugby. Jay cooked us a fabulous meal tonight (it being our last meal in the UK). We said our goodbyes to jay before bed, as we planned an early start tomorrow.
